The general costs for our advice and representation for bringing and defending claims in the Employment Tribunal (for unfair or wrongful dismissal or detriment claims) are as follows:

Straight forward cases
£30,000 - £50,000
Medium complexity cases
£50,000 - £100,000
High complexity cases
£100,000 - £175,000

The above pricing will be based on the following hourly rates which exclude VAT at 20%:

£485 to £595
Senior Associates
£400 to £475
Associates
£350 to £395
Trainees/Paralegals*
£250 to £325

* Not qualified solicitors.

There may be circumstances or factors which may influence the price ranges referred to above, in which case we will let you know and which may include:

  • Bringing or responding to applications connected with your claim.
  • The complexity of the legal and factual issues raised in the claim.
  • The amount of documentation that needs to be reviewed, prepared, or disclosed.
  • The duration of the Tribunal hearing and whether there is any need for a preliminary hearing.
  • Defending claims that are brought by a litigant in person.
  • The number of issues in dispute and witnesses involved.
  • Whether expert evidence is required and the extent of that evidence.
